Andrew Micallef’s ninth solo exhibition, Birdscapes and Other Works, is showing at the National Museum of Natural History in Mdina.

The exhibition features around 44 acrylic paintings which portray a small section of bird species which migrate from the Maltese archipelago, providing a concise outlook of Malta and its scenery from a natural point of view.

Micallef’s first solo exhibition, Bird Studies, was in 1986 at St John’s Co-Cathedral Annex in Valletta.

This was followed by a show on the same subject in 1989 at the National Museum of Natural History in Mdina. More exhibitions depicting natural and rural Malta and Gozo took place over the years.

Birdscapes and Other Works runs until next Sunday.
