Floriana FC's new coach Luis Oliveira landed in Malta today ahead of finalising his move to the Premier League club.

The former Fiorentina and Cagliari forward has reached an agreement with Floriana president Riccardo Gaucci to take over the reins of the club and is expected to sign a one-year-contract with an option of an extension at the end of the season.

Oliveira, who replaces Giovanni Tedesco who quit his role at the end of last season, said that he was looking forward to his new experience with Floriana.

“I am really happy to be here in Malta today,” Oliveira told reporters.

“This is a great challenge for me and I am grateful to president Roberto Gaucci for giving me the opportunity to work at Floriana FC.

“Although I’m still in my early years as a coach I’m determined to work hard and reach the objectives set by the club for next season.”

Oliveira will be presented to the Floriana fans tomorrow  morning during the club’s Annual General Meeting.
