BILOCCA. On June 9, at St Vincent de Paul residence, GERALD V., aged 90, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his much beloved wife Odelia, his brother Anthony Paul, his sister Lucia, all his in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves the residence today for the Capuchins’ Holy Cross church, Floriana, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. The family expresses gratitude to the staff of 5, St Joseph Ward, St Vincent de Paul residence, for their dedication and care. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

FARRUGIA. On June 10, at Mater Dei Hospital, FRANCIS of Ta’ Xbiex, aged 93, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife, Salvina, née Fenech, his children Joe and his wife Maria of Australia, Marion and her husband Gordon Silvester of the UK, and Pierre, his sister Rita Naudi, his grandchildren, relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Saturday, June 13 at 8.30am for St John of the Cross parish church, Ta’ Xbiex, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 9.15am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

MICALLEF. On June 9, in Sydney, Australia, MARY, née Farrugia, formerly of Valletta and Mosta, widow of Carmel, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Noel, Josette and Marpie, their spouses and nine grandchildren, all living in Sydney. In Malta she is mourned by her brother Fr Robert Farrugia, OC, her sister Nanette, wife of Mario Spiteri, her in-laws Tommy Micallef and his wife Mary, Notary Dr Francis Micallef, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. The funeral takes place in Sydney on Friday, June 19. A Mass for the repose of her soul is going to be celebrated on Thursday, June 18 at 5pm at Pax et Bonum chapel, Cassar Street, Mosta. The attendance of relatives and friends will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

PACE – INEZ of Sliema, passed away to eternal life, joining her husband Victor, her children Reggie, Doris, Hector and his wife Tessie, Eileen, and her grandchild Doranne, at the venerable age of 100, on June 9, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her beloved children Godfrey and his wife Catherine, Janet and her husband Alfred Sciberras, Remmy and his wife Connie of Australia, and Rosian and her husband Derek Huband, her grandchildren Doreen, Christine, Jesmond, Micheline, Marcia, Liza, Katya and their spouses, and her beloved great-grandchildren Jean Luc, Kane and Kelly, Michela and Nicholas, Tyler and Isaac, Joe, Jessica and Zara Rose, and Ylenia, her nephews and nieces, cousins and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 9am for Sacro Cuor parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9.30am, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery (back entrance). No flowers by request but donations to Puttinu Cares Children’s Cancer Support Group, Rainbow Ward, Mater Dei Hospital, will be greatly appreciated. The family regret that they are unable to receive visitors. We thank God for the presence of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother in our lives. She taught us so much and she will live on in our hearts. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
