Australia's Nine Network reporter Alex Bernhardt, seen above in the pink jacket on the right, was trying to ask some questions before a court case when a friend of the accused stubbed a cigarette in her face.  

Bernhardt was at the court to cover the case of someone charged for a stabbing death. 

"We go to work everyday, just like everybody else. Yes, our jobs much more public but we certainly shouldn't have to deal with this," Bernhardt said.

Australian media reports say police have charged the woman with public nuisance.
