An artist-run contemporary art space in Valletta, Blitz, is trying to raise vital funds for two long-term programmes which support local and international contemporary arts practice.
Project Space is a dedicated space for a high-turnaround exhibition programme and a platform for emerging, experimental practitioners who are challenging what it means to make art nowadays.
Sitting inside Blitz is a half-finished, self-contained apartment, waiting to bring international talent to Malta for engagement with the local scene.
It was designed and constructed by students from the Department of Architecture and Urban Design in the Faculty for the Built Environment at the University of Malta, and requires funds to be completed.
The amount of money a person pledges is withdrawn from their account only if the funding goal is reached.
This crowd-funding project is live now on www.makeuscount.com and will end on July 1.
Supporters can pledge any amount and in doing so will not only contribute to the Blitz organisation, but also get to choose a reward in return.
For this project a select group of local artists have donated limited edition art, created and produced exclusively for Blitz.
