Britain's Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have released four official photographs of Prince George and Princess Charlotte, who was born last month.

The photographs were taken by the Duchess, the wife of Prince William, in mid-May at Anmer Hall in Norfolk, England, according to Kensington Palace, the couple's London residence.

The newly released photographs shows Princess Charlotte for the first time since she left hospital with her parents on May 2.

Prince George, Charlotte's elder brother who will celebrate his second birthday next month, is seen smiling in the photographs while holding the little princess.

The baby princess will be christened by the Archbishop of Canterbury on July 5 at St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham, where William and Kate, known officially as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, have a country home on Queen Elizabeth's estate in eastern England, Kensington Palace announced.

The newest member of the British royal family has the full name of Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, in a nod to her late grandmother Princess Diana and her great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth.
