Hot on the heels of Malta being labelled as the rowdiest and nosiest place in the EU, it occurs to us there is one last nook where peace reigns supreme: the area surrounding Mount St Josph Retreat House, in Tarġa Gap, Mosta.

So proud are we of this reputation for rowdiness that we must go all out to destroy this peaceful nook at all costs. Great and brilliant idea: a shooting range on its doorstep!

Whoever thought of this must sit back and reflect and ask himself if this makes sense.

Are we ready to invest money at all costs even destroying a corner of peace where we can retire, away from the cacophany around us? I am sure common sense will prevail and this haven of silence, so cherished by thousands who make use of it every year, will be preserved rather than destroyed and this for the benefit of people seeking a couple of days where they can retreat away from the toils and worries of life and come to terms with themselves.
