It does appear like certain section of the media, some ‘opinionists’ and the Nationalist Party are going through great pains to demonise anyone who in any way is linked to the latest projects that have been announced by the present government.
Whether it’s the shooting range in the limits of Mosta or the so-called American University of Malta, it looks like both have hit a raw nerve. Everybody seems very concerned about tranquillity and the environment.
But what do they do in their personal lives to safeguard the tranquillity and environment which the latest ‘devils’ appear too eager to destroy?
I am sure that all of them cycle to work and ask their children to take the bus to school.
Strangely, there was no such backlash with other past projects… or is it a case of ‘enough is enough’, since they are all happy with what they are doing and do not give a hoot about others?
I wonder whether, for example, these same people have any concerns about the latest projects announced by the Corinthia Group, which raises some uncertainty about how that area of St Julian’s will cope.
And, thinking about the coast, where were all these green saviours of tranquillity when the Portomaso project was done? Where were they when Tigne Point and Manoel Island were surrendered for a pittance?
