On Sunday mornings, many locals and foreigners flock to the market at Marsaxlokk.

I recently went there too with a couple of friends.

It was very difficult to find a parking space and, in the end, we opted to park on the side of the road leading to the Delimara power station.

The road was solidly packed with private cars on one side and quite a number of coaches on the other side.

We were very cautious where to park and, once we confirmed that there were no ‘no parking’ lines or signs, we left our car and walked all the way to the market.

When we got back to the car, to our great surprise we found that, together with a great number of other vehicles, we had been given a parking ticket.

The irony is that only the cars parked on one side had been booked while the coaches on the other side were not.

I feel this is unfair and unjust.

Whoever booked all these cars must be ashamed of him-self because I am positively sure that I did not park in a ‘no parking’ zone.

Obviously, I shall be contesting such an ‘invented’ breach of regulations because I committed no contravention whatsoever.

One last word to whoever was behind these bookings: shame, shame, shame.
