Victor Mifsud writes:

I did not know Magistrate Ronnie Conti very well because I had just been posted to the Law Courts in Merchants Street, Valletta, when I had the pleasure of knowing him.

He surely did not know me. This gentleman was truly honest to his oath of office. Once he was in the balcony of his home when he noticed a policeman looking at his car, which was not parked properly.

The policeman started to take the particulars from the licence on the car’s windscreen when he noticed it belonged to a magistrate.

The policeman was taken aback and stopped writing. Dr Conti went down and told the policeman to continue doing his duty and write the citation, because as he himself had seen him, others might have as well.

I had to mention this incident only to show the honesty and integrity of this person. May God grant him eternal rest.
