Work on a project to upgrade Ta’ Pinu sanctuary’s parking area to provide more facilities for pilgrims and visitors is at an advanced stage of completion.

The current works consist of the construction of an open car park for 93 cars. The car park includes a wheelchair depot for the elderly and people with mobility problems.

The retaining walls around the site have been covered in rubble walls.

The car park surface has been designed to allow grass to grow.

The finishing works include landscaping with indigenous shrubs and trees, low-level lighting and irrigation works.
