The semi-sparkling Ġellewża Rosé Frizzante produced by Emmanuel Delicata has been awarded two more awards at two wine competitions held recently in London.
This medium dry rosé wine is made entirely from Malta’s indigenous red grape variety Ġellewża, one of two native grape varieties that are unique to the Maltese islands.
The awards are a bronze medal at the 2015 International Wine & Spirit Competition and a Commendation at the 2015 International Wine Challenge.
These latest accolades bring Delicata’s international count up to 104 awards
Malta’s signature rosé sparkling wine now counts six awards, having won three awards in the UK and three bronze medals in Bordeaux France, in recent years.
A further bronze medal was also awarded to Delicata’s premium white wine, the 2014 vintage Gran Cavalier Chardonnay. In the last three months, this barrel-fermented Malta DOK Superior Chardonnay also garnered a gold medal in Bordeaux and a silver medal in Burgundy.
The tasting note from one of the judges for this wine was as follows: “Nut and buttercream aromas, in contrast with a zesty lime palate. Rich, ripe and classy.”
These latest three accolades bring Delicata’s international count up to 104 awards.
