The Malta Racing Club will be hosting one of its most interesting meetings of the season at the Marsa Racetrack this afternoon as the top Premier Class trotters will be racing in five heats leading up to two PMU finals next month.
French trotters will race in three qualifying heats from the Prix de Vincennes championship which is sponsored by the French Trotting Association.
At stake for the 26 horses in the semi-finals will be 12 slots in the final.
This afternoon 18 non-French Premier category trotters will be racing in two Sette Giugno Cup semi-finals.
This will be the first time that the June 7 final will be classified as a PMU event, meaning bets are taken while the race is transmitted live internationally.
Today’s card also includes two semi-finals for Gold Class horses from the Prix d’Enghien championship.
All semi-finals will be raced over 2,140m. Today’s meeting starts at 1.45pm.
