• Munxar parish will today open Gozo’s festive season with its titular feast of St Paul’s Shipwreck. Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will lead a Pontifical Mass at Munxar parish church at 8.30am. Canon Joseph Zammit will deliver the panegyric. Mgr Salv Debrincat leads solemn vespers at 6.30pm. A march by La Stella Band will start at 7pm. The procession with the statue of St Paul, led by Fr Giovanni Curmi and accompanied by the Mnarja Band, starts at 7.30pm. La Stella Band will give a concert on the village square. At 10.30pm the procession will end with the antiphon and a sacramental blessing.

• The last Gaulitana Festival concerts take place today. Violinist Pierre Louis Attard, accompanied by Colin Attard, will perform in a concert called ‘Youth and Music 4: A Gozitan touch at Lunchtime’ at 11am at the Gozo Ministry hall, Victoria. ‘A Choral Finale’, featuring soprano Mary Morgan, contralto Fiona Henderson, tenor Roland Kitchen, bass Andrew Hopwood, accompanied by the Wycliffe Choral Society and organist Josef Laming, conducted by Christopher Swain, will be held at 8.30pm at the Nativity of Our Lady basilica, Xagħra. • Masses at Ta’ Pinu sanctuary will be said today at 6.15, 8.30, 10 and 11.15am and 5pm, followed by the rosary and eucharistic benediction. On Wednesday, Masses will be said at 5, 6, 7, 8.30 and 9am and 5.30, 6.30 and 8pm, followed by the rosary.

• Masses at Our Lady of Mt Carmel church, Ta’ Ħamet, l/o Xewkija, will be said today at 9.30am and at 7.30pm.

• Masses at St James church, Independence Square, Victoria, will be said today at 10.30am and at 5.30pm.

• The Sponge Bob Movie: Sponge Out of Water will be screened today at 6pm at Don Bosco oratory, Victoria. Kingsman: Suite Française will be screened on Saturday at 8.30pm.

• A prayer session and a Mass to celebrate the 128th anniversary of the birth of St Pio of Pietrelcina will be held tomorrow at 6.30pm at the Capuchins’ sanctuary of Our Lady of Graces, Victoria. Members of prayer groups in Gozo and devotees of the saint are invited to attend.

• The feast of Mary, help of Christians will be celebrated tomorrow at Don Bosco oratory, Victoria. The rosary will be said at 6.30pm followed by High Mass at 7pm led by Mgr George Tabone. A procession with the statue of Mary will leave the oratory at 7.45pm.

• MUSEUM superior Joe Fenech will hold a prayer and catechesis meeting at Our Lady of Pompeii church, Victoria, on Thursday from 10 to 11am. All are invited.

• Of Gods and Men will be screened on Friday at 8pm at Don Bosco oratory, Victoria, by Aid to the Church in Need. The film, winner of the 2010 Cannes Film Festival, is inspired by the true story of the martyrdom of seven Augustinian monks in Algeria. The public is invited to attend. Entrance is free.

• Mending Martin, a play by Rob Ricards, performed by Sue Scantlebury, Marion Sayers and Julia Camilleri, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 8pm at the Gozo Ministry hall, St Francis Square, Victoria. Tickets at €10 may be obtained from Bargate Bookshop. For details e-mail markthorogood@gmail.com.

• The diocesan Eucharistic Movement will hold a prayer evening at Good Shepherd church, Victoria, on Saturday at 8.30pm, followed by Mass at midnight.

• A charity car boot sale will be held next Sunday from 7.30am to 1pm by the Friends of the Sick and Elderly in Gozo at the football ground near the main car park, Victoria. The fee of €10 per car space is payable on the day.

• Ta’ Klula Foundation will hold its annual Bis-Saħħa Wine Festival on June 6, at 8pm at Santa Luċija’s main square. Entrance is free. Bus 313 links the village to Victoria. For more information call 7948 4431.
