A series of short, intensive marine biology courses will be held in July and August by the AquaBioTech Group. The course consists of eight hours of lectures and snorkelling or scuba diving sessions spread over three afternoons.

The lectures will be delivered by marine biologist Alan Deidun at the group’s premises in Mosta. Topics to be covered include an overview of the major marine habitats and species in the Mediterranean, an introduction to planktonic communities, physical processes shaping the seas and an overview of major threats facing the conservation of living marine resources.

The scuba sessions will be led by the Watercolours Diving Centre in Sliema, while the snorkelling sessions will take place at Golden Bay.
