• The legal remedies provided by the Consumer Affairs Act do not apply when we buy goods from and individual who is not a professional seller.

• When buying from a private seller, we should ensure that we have the seller’s full contact details and evidence of the purchase made just in case there is a dispute about the product purchased.

• Goods bought from individuals must be carefully inspected. This is especially so in case of mechanical or electrical products.
