Electronic Music Malta (EMM), a new voluntary organisation set to bring together musicians, visual artists, engineers, innovators, DJs and anyone interested in exploring and learning more about electronic music, will be launched on Saturday at at St James Cavalier, Valletta.

The event will feature a concert and workshop during which local electronic artists Duo Blank, Owen Jay and Monolith will be collaborating with visual artist Toni Gialanze to give a performance that will blend electronic music with interactive graphical animations.

The performers will also be fielding questions and discussing aspects such as the evolution of electronic music, music production, the challenges of setting up and managing a record label, the production and preparation of interactive graphical animations synchronised with music and many other aspects related to the common factors linking music and technology.

Participants will learn more about the organisation and its aspirations, meet local artists from the electronic scene and to be able to put forward their own comments and suggestions in line with the organisation’s inclusive policy.

A limited selection of locally-produced releases on CD and vinyl will also be on sale. Entrance to the event is free on a first-come first-served basis.
