The hunters' federation said this morning it supported the development of the long awaited and international standards target shooting range at tal-Busbesija, limits of Mosta.

It said that, in its opinion, the promised range would not disturb the Jesuits retreat house at Mount St Joseph in any negative manner.

The Jesuit community is objecting to the plans saying a shooting range would undermine the tranquillity of thousands of visitors at the retreat house.

The federation said that many of its members also practiced various target shooting disciplines, such as clay-pigeon shooting.
