The RLR Weekend Regatta, an event for sailors of all abilities and with different courses set for the various classes eligible to take part, gets underway with race briefing at the Royal Malta Yacht Club (RMYC) headquarters this evening.

Races are scheduled for tomorrow and Sunday morning, with the first warning signal taking place at 11am on both days.

Courses will be prepared according to the weather conditions on the day.

The regatta will commence from the waters outside the club in Ta’ Xbiex.

On the social side, a full programme of events has been planned for the weekend.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three boats in each class if there are at least five entries and the winners in IRC 1, IRC 2 and J/70 will automatically qualify for the RMYC Selection Race ahead of the 2015 Etchells International Regatta.

This weekend’s regatta is supported by RLR Yachting who have been backing the club’s racing initiatives for several years.
