Nationalist Party leader Simon Busuttil this morning called on the Prime Minister Joseph Muscat to stop taking people for a ride on the Zonqor project and to be clear about his intentions.

"Every time he speaks on this project he changes his tune according to his audience. Stop being ambiguous and declare that the project will not take place at Zonqor, " he said.

Addressing a press conference at the beginning of a new internal party process to elect members of the executive, Dr Busuttil said the Prime Minister managed to construct a movement against the Zonqor project ranging from lecturers to students to his own MPs.

He said it was now clear that Dr Muscat is trying to find a way out.

Dr Busuttil said the Prime Minister had to make it clear that any project at Zonqor was unacceptable and there should be no compromises.

On the new party elections, Dr Busuttil said that the party was continually regenerating itself.

He said that following the election of 18 new members on the executive committee, the new secretary general would be elected on June 3.
