A 27-year-old man from Marsascala was today remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to the theft of €30,000 worth of antique furniture from a house across the road from where he lived.

Siro Falzon allegedly broke into the uninhabited residence where the furniture is stored and made away with thousands of euro worth of goods, including valuable antiques.

According to the police, the theft took place on Monday and last month.

Mr Falzonis pleading not guilty.

Magistrate Charmaine Galea rejected a request for bail, given that he lived closed to from where the theft took place.

Police Inspector Josric Mifsud prosecuted while lawyer Simon Micallef Stafrace appeared for the man.
