Champions Hibernians and Birkirkara will contest the final honour of the domestic season when they meet in the FA Trophy final tomorrow at the National Stadium (kick-off 5pm).

On a high after their emphatic title success, Hibernians are aiming for their first double in 33 years while Birkirkara are bidding to rescue a low-key season by winning the knock-out competition.

Speaking to Times of Malta, Hibernians coach Branko Nisevic is heartened by the attitude shown by his players in training as they are showing a lot of “determination and hunger” to complete the double.

For his part, Paul Zammit, the Birkirkara coach, reckons that his team are facing a tough challenge as Hibernians have only lost one game in the league this season but he is taking courage from the Stripes’ bold performances in their previous encounters with the champions.
