The newly set up National Road Safety Commission met for the first time this week to start discussing how to make Malta’s roads less dangerous.

The commission is made up of representatives of the Civil Protection Department, the police, insurance companies, Transport Malta, the Health Department, the Cyclists’ Federation, the Children’s Commissioner, local councils and the National Commission Persons with Disability, among others.

Their role is to identify issues that need to be addressed and come up with proposals.
