The Malta Football Association said today it was monitoring the situation and collecting facts about the alleged involvement of two Maltese brothers in a possible international match fixing ring.

Brothers Adrian and Robert Farrugia are among 50 people being investigated by Italian police over alleged match fixing in Lega Pro and Serie D matches.

The MFA acknowledged that this matter was being handled by the police and said it would exercise prudence until further information was available.

It said it would inform the public of any steps it may take on the situation when all facts were clear and official documentation was made available to it.
