Four koalas on loan to Singapore by the Australian government moved into their new home at the city's zoo.

Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs Julie Bishop opened the new exhibit alongside her Singapore counterpart K. Shanmugam.

The marsupials have been loaned to Singapore as part of the country's 50th anniversary of independence events and to mark 50 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties between Australia and Singapore.

They will stay at the zoo until January 2016, before returning to Australia.
