Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando, executive chairman of the Malta Council for Science and Technology, has a salary of €33,835, a performance bonus amounting to 10 per cent of his salary, and an expense allowance of €2,096.

Social Dialogue Minister Helena Dalli, who was speaking on behalf of Education Minister Evarist Bartolo, told Nationalist MP Jason Azzopardi that Dr Pullicino Orlando also enjoyed a market correctional allowance of €11,647, a car allowance of €4,193, a fuel allowance of 150 litres a month, and paid internet and mobile phone.

Dr Dalli said Dr Pullicino Orlando was appointed on the basis of trust.

Answering another question, Dr Dalli said MCAST principal Stephen Cachia had an annual salary of €55,000, a fuel allowance of 150 litres per month, an expense allowance of €2,096, and a fully paid landline, internet and mobile phone. Mr Cachia, who was already a member of the public service, was appointed following approval by the Office of the Prime Minister.

Environment Minister Leo Brincat said WasteServ CEO Tonio Montebello had a salary of €47,000, a car allowance of €4,658, an expense allowance of €2,784, an annual expense of €2,000 for fixed line, mobile and internet service and a performance bonus – a total package of €56,450. This, Mr Brincat said, was €3,150 less than that handed out by the previous administration.
