The timetable of the ferry services linking Valletta to Sliema as well as Valletta to the Three Cities is being extended because of growing demand, Valletta V-18 chairman Jason Micallef announced this morning.

He said the services, across Marsamxett and Grand Harbour, will operate up to 12.30am every day between June and September.

The services currently stop at 7.30pm.

Mr Micallef pointed out that capacity on the Marsamxett service between Valletta and Sliema was recently increased with the introduction of a catamaran.

A bigger boat was also introduced on the Valletta-Vittoriosa-Senglea route last year. He hoped worked on a pier in Grand Harbour would be speeded up so that a catamaran can also operate from there.

Services during the day are every 15 minutes. There will be longer intervals during the night.

The services are operated by Fortel Group.
