Atlas Insurance recently held a fundraising walk for the Ladybird Foundation at Majjistral Nature and History Park. The walk was held in collaboration with the Nannakolas on the Go and was attended by Atlas staff, family and friends.

Multigas donates beds to Mount Carmel unit

Multigas Ltd donated 20 beds, complete with brand new mattresses to Mount Carmel Rehabilitation Unit for patients who are in the phase that determines their reintegration into society. The company also participated in a general upgrading of the facilities.

“Following treatment, transitional housing is recognised as an essential step for patients on their road to recovery, as this helps patients to start integrating into society with as few repercussions for them as possible. Through this donation, the unit will be able to allocate more money to pressing needs,” hospital CEO Clifton Grima said.

Children at Rainbow Ward given a treat by Red October

A large amount of toys, collectables, chocolates and candy were donated to the Rainbow Ward at Mater Dei Hospital by leading confectionary importers and distributors Red October Company Ltd.

The children receiving treatment at the Rainbow Ward had several boxes of branded goods to explore, including toys from Barbie, Spiderman, Minions and Mickey Mouse as well as items from the Bon Bon Buddies range.

Red October brand manager Philip Caruana Turner said: “It was great to see the hard work being done by Puttinu Cares to put a smile on the faces of these children in need.”

MCA raises €825 for Puttinu

The Malta Communications Authority raised €825 for Puttinu Cares during a 60-hour football and volleyball marathon held last week.

“The MCA is a regulatory institution behind which lies a formidable team of professional individuals who strive to obtain results but who also come together for the good of others,” said a member of the social committee.

Lidl supports food survey

The participants of the pilot study leading up to the National Food Consumption Survey will receive a Lidl voucher, whereas the participants of the full year-long survey will receive a bag with Lidl gifts.

The survey will look at the eating habits of more than 1,000 Maltese citizens over the age of seven. The results will be used to develop national dietary guidelines and campaigns about healthy eating.

Deloitte encourages blood donation

As part of its CSR activities for the year, Deloitte Malta recently organised a blood drive outside its offices in Mrieħel. Deloitte staff together with staff from neighbouring companies were encouraged to donate blood at the Blood Donation Mobile Unit.
