Josef Grech and Doreen Spiteri in their personal capacity and on behalf of Dom Communications Lts have denied that they plagarised a book on titular statutes in Malta and Gozo.

The claim was made in court last week by author Joseph Mary Grech who said that Josef Grech took advantage of the similarity in their names and published a book bearing the exact same title as his original work called Vari Ta Malta u Ghawdex published in 1998.

The author, and his lawyer Emmy Bezzina, claimed that Josef Grech published a book last year containing the same content as well as 80 scanned photos from his original work.

But in an official reply today, Josef Grech and Ms Spiteri said they had no connection with Joseph Mary Grech or his book.

They asked Joseph Mary Grech to withdraw his claims or face legal action.
