Dubai-based airline Emirates has expanded its double-decker luxury A380 aircraft network with a service into Perth, Australia.

Perth is the fourth Australian city to welcome a regular Emirates Airbus A380 service.

The revolutionary aircraft will transport up to 982 passengers inbound and outbound daily between Perth and Emirates’ international hub.

“Emirates is pleased to introduce the first A380 service into Perth. The A380 is a state-of-the-art aircraft offering our flagship product in all three classes, and we look forward to providing this outstanding experience to our Perth passengers as well as to international visitors flying into this vibrant city,” said Barry Brown, one of Emirates divisional senior vice presidents.

“The fact that we now offer A380 services into four Australian cities is a testament to the strong global demand for travel into Australia, a premier tourist location and key destination in our global network.”

Together with its partner Australian airline Qantas, a total of seven daily A380 services now operate from Australia to Dubai with onward connections to Emirates’ full network of more than 140 destinations.

“Emirates first commenced services to Perth 13 years ago, in 2002, and Perth Airport is very proud to welcome their first A380, connecting more passengers to destinations around the world and offering Western Australians the opportunity to experience an outstanding aircraft,” said Brad Geatches, chief executive officer of Perth Airport.

The Emirates A380 flying to Perth is set in a three-class configuration, with 401 economy class seats on the lower deck, 76 fully flat-bed, mini-pods in business class and 14 first-class private suites on the upper deck.

Emirates’ Perth A380 service operates daily as EK420, departing Dubai at 2.55am and arriving at Perth International Airport at 5.35pm the same day.

The return flight, EK421, will depart Perth at 10.10pm and arrives in Dubai the following day at 5.25am: an expect flying time of 11 hours and 15 minutes.
