AQUILINA. On May 15, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOHN (ex-police officer 189), aged 74, of Nadur, residing in Naxxar, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Galina, his children Jason and his wife Jeanette and Maureen and her partner Chris, his grandchildren Justin, Liona, Paul, Maria and Luke and their partners, his brothers and sisters and his wife’s brother and his respective family, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 3.30pm for Naxxar parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 4pm followed by interment in the family grave at Naxxar cemetery. CACHIA CARUANA. On May 13, at Mater Dei Hospital, ANTOINE, aged 87, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his irreparable loss his beloved wife Jo, née Sant Cassia, his children Edward and Silvana, Richard, Francis and Laura, Louise and Tonio Ellul, his grandchildren David and Katya, Matthew and Lucienne, Malcolm, Francesco, Philip, Michaela, Francesca and Timmy, his great-granddaughter Amelia, his brother Carmel and Marian, his sister-in-law Yvonne, his nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The family are grateful for the sentiments of appreciation for his life’s work, expressed by his former pupils at St Edward’s College, their parents, and his colleagues. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 9am for the grounds of St Edward’s College, Cottonera, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated by Archbishop Charles Scicluna at 9.30am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Equal Partners Foundation would be appreciated. The family thank the staff at the Cardiac Critical Care Unit of Mater Dei Hospital for their dedication and care. Eternal rest grant unto him, Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.

She leaves to mourn her great loss her father Ġużi, her sisters Manuela and her husband Malc, Anna, and Lucienne and her husband Sandro, her nephews and nieces Anita, Paula, Mark, GianLuca, Mark, Andrew and Lisa, her cousins, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8.30am for St Cajetan parish church, Ħamrun, where Mass will be celebrated at 9am, followed by interment in the grave of the San Franġisk Community – Ħamrun, at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. On February 5, in the Isle of Man, Magistrate Dr RONNIE CONTI, aged 81, passed away, leaving to mourn his loss his wife Diana, son John, sister Lilian and her family, and friends among whom the surviving graduates from the 1948-1955 course of Laws, namely Gawdenz Borg, Victor Caruana Colombo, Ugo Mifsud Bonnici, Francis Portanier and Joseph Zammit Tabona. A Mass for the repose of his soul will be said on Wednesday at 6.30pm at St Gregory the Great parish church, Sliema.
FENECH – On May 14 at Mater Dei Hospital, ALFRED, aged 77, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Jessie, his children Mario and his wife Ċettina, Joseph and his wife Monica, Magda, Jonathan and his wife Marusca and Lydia and her husband Stanley and their respective families, his siblings Carmel and his wife Mena, Lora, widow of Joe, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Mass praesente cadavere will be held on Monday at 8.30am at Our Lady of Graces parish church, Żabbar. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. GALEA. On May 7, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARIA, née Sammut, (Tal-Bambolin), of Mosta, aged 64, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved husband Joseph, her daughters Odette, Ruth, Martha, Stefania and their spouses, and Maria, her grandchildren, her brothers and sisters, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. Funeral Mass was said last Monday at Mosta parish church. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
