On a local TV channel it was stated that a plant-based diet can prevent – and even reverse – cancer and other diseases while animal-based, processed and refined food increase the risk of many diseases.

So, apart from the fact that animals would no longer be bred to be slaughtered, eating fruit, vegetables, nuts and other plant-based food prevents many diseases which could lead to an early death.

For many animal lovers, this is very good news because it is unfair that so many animals are killed every day for human consumption. One cannot imagine the fear and pain these poor creatures go through when transported to the slaughter house.

I hope many people will start following a plant-based diet – if not for the poor animals’ sake, at least for their own personal health.
