Activities to inspire new thinking and foster a culture of creativity and innovation were held by the University’s Edward de Bono Institute for the Design and Development of Thinking as part of World Creativity and Innovation Week (WCIW) 2015.

The activities kicked off with a number of lessons in creative thinking for Year 5 and Year 6 pupils at St Benedict College’s Birżebbuġa primary school and Year 5 pupils at St Edward’s College.

The ideas generated by the pupils were exhibited in collages.

In another event, employees of the Malta Information Technology Agency (MITA) attended an interactive workshop on creative thinking, where they practised tools and techniques that can foster creative effort.

Students on the institute’s Master in Creativity and Innovation also shot videos on what they saw as essential for creative thinking, and uploaded them onto social media, including the institute’s Facebook page.

Margaret Mangion coordinated the events.
