Delegates from all the 52 European basketball national federations convened at the Grand Hotel Excelsior yesterday for the opening day of the FIBA Europe General Assembly. The meeting is being chaired by president Turgay Demirel and general secretary Kamil Novak. The main item on the agenda of the two-day meeting is the FIBA Europe calendar for next season. Malta Basketball Association president Paul Sultana (left) kicked off yesterday’s session by welcoming all the visiting delegates and expressed his pride that a small country like Malta could host such a prestigious meeting. FIBA World president Horacio Muratore is also present for the General Assembly.
