In his statement on St Vincent de Paul GPs (May 9), Charles Messina states that “the different and much better conditions compared to 10 resident doctors could only cause ‘bad blood and demotivation’”.

While I totally agree with what he had to say, I cannot stop thinking that, ultimately, it is the residents of St Vincent de Paul who are the victims.

What proper medical care can these doctors offer if they are overwhelmed by the number of residents they have to care for?

My mother passed away recently at St Vincent de Paul. While I can understand the limitations at the residence, I could never understand the deficiency in the medical care.

Now it is a little clearer.

It is imperative that the administration of St Vincent de Paul addresses this situation if the care of the residents there is truly the priority.
