Maltese referee Alan Mario Sant will be in charge of today’s UEFA U-17 Championship quarter-final between holders England and Russia at the Lazur Stadium in Burgas, Bulgaria.

Sant has already officiated in the tournament which comes to a close next Friday with the final.

On Tuesday, he was in charge of the Group B match between Germany and Czech Republic, which the Germans won 4-0. On Thursday, he was referee for the Group C Scotland-France tie. Les Bleus won it 5-0.

This is the third time that Sant is forming part of the officiating team for the UEFA U-17 final tournament following his appointments of 2012 in Slovenia and Malta last year.

Quarter-finals: Croatia vs Belgium 1-1 (Belgium win 5-3 on penalties); Germany vs Spain 0-0 (Germany win 4-2 on penalties).

Playing today: 15.00 England vs Russia. 18.00 France vs Italy.
