Delicata’s 2014 vintage Victoria Heights Shiraz Rosé DOK Gozo wine has been awarded a bronze medal at the 2015 Global Rosé Masters wine competition held in the UK.

The Drinks Business Global Masters wine competitions are a series of ‘races’ where every wine is measured on the taste of its grape and the skill of its winemaker. All preconceived ideas about the importance of location are pushed to one side as wines from across the world are judged side-by-side, exclusively by style and price.

The blind-tasting competitions draw in entries from across the world. The best wines are judged by a panel of masters of wine, master sommeliers and senior buyers only. The first of these these competitions took place in mid-April, solely for rosé wines.

One of the key elements to the competition’s success is the quality and the dedication of the judges involved. The calibre of the judges guarantees international recognition of all the medals awarded.

While a number of star names from high-profile regions prove the solid foundations of their reputation, the medal rankings expose wines from countries not widely known for top-quality wine production and some hidden gems are often revealed, such as this bronze medal-winning Gozitan Victoria Heights Shiraz Rosé.

This latest medal is the seventh awarded to Delicata wines this year, following silver in Burgundy, France, a Gran Menzione in Verona, Italy, and a gold, a silver and two bronzes in Bordeaux, France.

All these bring the company’s total international medal count up to 101 awards.
