Justin Haber and Rowen Muscat will continue their careers with Birkirkara after they agreed to sign new contracts earlier this week.

Haber, who joined the Stripes in 2013, was Birkirkara’s first-choice goalkeeper this season and his performances have been rewarded with a three-year contract that will keep him at the club until the end of season 2017-18.

Rowen Muscat has also pledged his future to Birkirkara after the hard-working Malta midfielder put pen to paper on a two-year deal.

Muscat started the season with Hungarian club Dunaújváros before rejoining the Stripes in January.

Marino out of Trophy semi-final

Valletta goalkeeper Pietro Marino will miss Saturday’s FA Trophy semi-final against Birkirkara after being handed a one-match ban yesterday.

The Italian goalkeeper was sanctioned after he was sent off in the Citizens’ 3-1 defeat to Hibernians in their final league match of the season.

The other two players who received a one-match ban yesterday were Qormi defender Billy Berntsson and Pietà midfielder Orosco Anonam.
