On his return to Chelsea last season, Jose Mourinho declared that his team will win the Premier League the following year.
The Portuguese was true to his word as the Blues have captured two honours so far, adding the Premier League title to the League Cup they won in March.
For Mourinho, this was his third league triumph with Chelsea (he won the first two titles in his first spell at the club) while the Blues have ended a five-year wait to claim the top accolade in English football.
Mourinho said: “I could choose another club in another country where it is easier to be champion but I chose the most difficult league in Europe where I was happy before.”
At Stamford Bridge, with champagne on ice, Eden Hazard’s goal was enough for the Blues to obtain a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace and put the seal on the league triumph.
