Amber, Malta’s representative for the Eurovision Song Contest, held her first rehearsal in Vienna this afternoon.
According to initial comments by ESCdaily.com, not only does Amber have the same song title as Georgia (Warrior), but the staging and visuals also look similar.
Amber, it said, was one of the lucky artists who had six months to plan for the competition and today’ rehearsal had proven that those six months were effectively.
Amber was alone on stage.
"She sings wearing black dress which fits perfectly with the lighting. The backdrop looks similar to Austria last year where flames are forming the shape of a pair of wings."
wiwibloggs noted that Amber was alone on stage. "She doesn’t need backing vocalists with a voice like this. That confidence is well placed as her power and control really comes through. That said, there’s something missing at the dramatic climax of the song – probably some pyro, which we can expect later in the week. Much like her fellow “Warrior” Nina Sublatti, she’s also using the video backdrop with shapes firing off from behind her. This feels much more like Conchita’s than Nina’s effort. Viewers might feel like they’ve seen this before."
Amber will be on stage for the second semi-final on May 21.
