The latest mega project to be announced, that of the American University, brought the usual predictable PN response – finding the proverbial pin in the project’s haystack. To the PN leadership, each project which brings many millions of investment into our country, with the resultant creation of jobs and wealth for our people,is an obstacle to their hunger to regain power.

Although Simon Busuttil and his motley crew would not want to be seen contrary to such investment, they invariably start looking for something about the project with which they can sow doubts or distrust in the minds of our people.

They did this on the citizenship by investment programme, the €320m investment by Shangai Power Electric in Enemalta and on the Bart university project in Gozo. And they are doing it again on the American University project which is intended to give a great and a much needed economic push in the south of the island.
