Budget airline Ryanair is holding a sale on airfares to mark its new route from Malta to Rome this winter.

The new route, announced last week, will bring the number of services Ryanair operates out of Luqa airport to 22.

Planes will fly between Malta and the Italian capital five times per week after October 25.

The Irish carrier cut prices down to start from €27 for 100,000 flights in June across its European network.

Its sale will end at midnight tomorrow.

Sales and marketing manager Maria Macken said: “This winter Ryanair will operate 22 routes at Malta including two new routes to Rome and East Midlands, plus additional frequencies to Madrid in Spain.”
