The relics of St John Bosco, patron saint of children and youths, will be brought to Gozo from Turin next Sunday on the occasion of the bicentenary of the saint’s birth.

Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will welcome the relics in Republic Street, Victoria at 9.45am, after which a procession with the relics will take place from the Salesian Sisters’ home to the Don Bosco oratory. A celebration animated by a youth band will then be held at the oratory chapel.

At 1pm the relics will be taken to Ta’ Pinu sanctuary where special prayers for the sick and the disabled will be held at 3pm.

At 4pm Fr Francis Zammit will lead a prayer meeting for religious and priests, and a solemn high Mass at 5pm will conclude the visit.

The Mass will be transmitted live on TVM2.
