The school library at St Nicholas College, Naxxar, was transformed into a mock crime scene by librarian Aaron Busuttil Linwood and students were asked to take photos of the scene and write a report on it. The initiative formed part of the school’s activities for this year’s World Book Day and language week.
On World Book Day, author Trevor Zahra was invited to visit St Elias College to speak to students and answer questions about his works and to inaugurate the school’s newly refurbished library.
San Andrea School students marked World Book Day by coming to school dressed up as their favourite book character. After reading silently in the playground for 15 minutes, the children later paraded their costumes and voted for their favourite character – it was a resounding triumph for the Stilton characters, with Harry Potter, ballerinas and the Hobbit close runners-up.
