Wi111ow Theatre presents a physical poem, Trap-ease – A Physical Poem, in collaboration with poet Miriam Calleja and featuring live music by Fuzzhoneys.

The different elements of the piece come together to take us on a journey of relationships, connections and disconnections, confusion and clarity, manipulation and tender love. The subtle discovery of love beyond stereotypes is explored.

The tagline ‘your greatness is my fortress’ symbolises the moments of infatuation at the beginning of a relationships, but it also hints at our ways of protecting ourselves from others.

Physical theatre is used to show us one interpretation of the poems. However, our memories may deceive us – when we are ready for the inevitable leap of faith into the unknown, our hand outstretched towards the other, will that person be ready to receive us?

Trap-ease – A Physical Poem is directed by Alba Florian Viton with poems by Miriam Calleja. It is performed by Florian Viton, Naomi Said and Brandon Shaw. The production is being done with the support of the Azad Foundation and the Department of Dance Studies at the University of Malta.

Trap-ease – A Physical Poem takes place on Friday, Saturday and next Sunday at 8pm at Palazzo Pereira, Valletta.
