Three men were remanded in custody this afternoon after denying drug-related charges brought against them following the sizeable seizure of cannabis, ecstasy, LSD pills and cocaine in an apartment in St Paul’s Bay.

George Cutajar, a 23-year-old pastry chef from St Paul’s Bay, Stefan Asenov Ivanov, a 22-year-old Bulgarian and Todd Robert Henderson-Drake, a 23-year-old chef from Manchester, all pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them by Police Inspectors Pierre Grech and Jonathan Cassar.

Following several weeks of observation, the Drug Squad police found more than 1.3 kilograms of cannabis resin, 440 grams of cannabis grass, 100 grams of cocaine, 10 ecstasy pills and 10 LSD doses at an apartment in St Paul’s Bay.

The three were arraigned separately before Magistrate Miriam Hayman, who turned down their requests for bail.

Lawyers Luciano Busuttil and Gavin Gulia appeared for Mr Henderson-Drake, lawyer Yana Micallef Stafrace appeared as legal aid for Mr Ivanov while lawyers Noella and Lucio Sciriha appeared for Mr Cutajar.
