Only one out of 10 employers said they would hire a former inmate. Statistics show that nearly half of all former convicts will end up behind bars again. Many believe the time spent behind bars is not being used effectively enough to teach prisoners ways and means to reintegrate into society.

This in spite of the fact that thousands of euros have been spent over the past years on prison reform.

Is the reform working or has it failed? If you were an employer, would you engage a former inmate? Should the police conduct system be amended to ensure former prisoners are really given a second chance?

Presented by Times of Malta's head of media Herman Grech and chief reporter Mark Micallef, Times Talk is live on TVM on Tuesday at 6.45pm. Send us your questions and views.
