Charles Xuereb and the George Cross on the flag of Malta cannot live together. His recent statement aired on Campus FM however takes the cake.

He reasoned that the cross depicted on the medal awarded to Malta in 1942 by King George VI is not a Catholic cross but a Protestant cross, given that King George was of course Church of England.

For him this is another argument in favour of removing the said cross from the flag of Malta, a Catholic country. May I ask, however, what a Catholic cross would look like?
