The Malta Community Chest Fund is to offer wigs made up of Maltese people’s hair to cancer patients.

The hair was donated during l-Istrina events.

Coordinator Matilde Balzan said hundreds of people had donated hair.

180 cancer patients needed wigs last year, including a number of children.

The production of wigs was made possible thanks to assistant by stylist Ian Miller who produced the wigs abroad.

President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca said the wigs would be offered free of charge or at a low price to those who could not otherwise afford them.

More hair donations are being accepted. Details on telephone number 21226 226.
