Local artists will be given the opportunity to showcase their work and talent to an international audience through the Malta Showcase, a joint initiative by the Valletta 2018 Foundation in collaboration with Arts Council Malta, ŻiguŻajg International Arts Festival for Children & Young People and St James Cavalier Centre for Creativity.
Valletta 2018 Foundation Chairman Jason Micallef said the initiative would maximise the potential and raise the reputation of contemporary Maltese performers.
"Malta Showcase is a clear example of the Valletta 2018 Foundation’s commitment to better the creative sector through long term, strategic projects," he said.
Toni Attard, Director Strategy at Arts Council Malta said: “Through Malta Showcase new opportunities for artists and a collaborative platform between cultural organisations and international partners are being created”.
The Malta Showcase will be available to various international programmers interested in incorporating local talent in international festivals and theatres.
It will be divided into five sectors: Dance, Theatre, Music, Young Audiences and Bands.
